My name is Malique (pronounced Mah-Leek), and I am a film and television editor based in Brooklyn. My journey into post-production began during my sophomore year of high school when I enrolled in my first broadcasting class. This ignited a lifelong passion that led me to earn a B.A. in Film + TV from Georgia State University. In 2017, I made the leap to New York City to take my career to the next level.

Since moving to the city, I’ve built a diverse portfolio across documentary and digital spaces. My notable credits include serving as an assistant editor on the acclaimed documentary The Big Payback, contributing to The BMF Documentary: Blowing Money Fast as an assistant editor for season 1 and advancing to junior editor for season 2, and receiving an additional editor credit on the award-winning feature American Symphony.

Driven by an entrepreneurial creative spirit, I also create and edit independent projects and digital series. I am the creator and editor of Malique’s Mixxy Drinks, a digital series currently celebrating three successful seasons. Additionally, I am the co-creator and editor of the web series Adultin', and have lent my editing skills to projects like Vogue Beauty Secrets and Criblore: Black Mary.

At the core of my work is a dedication to telling deeply resonant stories from underrepresented communities, particularly those within the Black diaspora. I am deeply committed to elevating the presence of women of color in post-production and contributing to a more inclusive, representative industry landscape.
